Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach English at all levels. I have experience in KS 1-5, A-Level, university level and adult literacy. I teach Classics and Ancient History at GCSE and A-Level. I teach creative writing, creative literacy and creative vocabulary for ESOL learners. I also offer proofreading, essay and dissertation support, research support, reading, note-taking and academic support.

What kind of experience do you have?
I teach English at all levels. I have experience in KS 1-5, A-Level, university level and adult literacy. I am a published writer, and I have just finished a creative writing MA. I have experience with creative writing tuition, scriptwriting, creative literacy and creative vocabulary for ESOL learners. I have worked as a script editor for the BBC and as a fiction sub-editor on an international literary magazine. I offer proofreading, essay and dissertation support, research support and reading. I also have experience as an electronic notetaker and academic support worker, so I can offer support for students who have disabilities in a work or study setting. My BA was in Classical Studies and Ancient History, and I offer support with GCSE and A-Level Classics, Classical Civilization and Ancient History.

How much do you charge?
I charge £20 per hour for all lessons. I am happy to teach groups of students at a negotiable reduced rate. All preparation is included in this rate. I offer a free consultation lesson to all prospective students.

Where do you teach?
I teach at students' homes, or in mutually agreed public locations, such as a library. I am based in Brighton but I am willing to travel to surrounding areas. I am also happy to teach online via Skype, Moodle, email or any other virtual learning environment.

When are you available?
I am available during the days, evenings and weekends. I work freelance so times are negotiable.

Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach from KS1-5, sixth form students and adult learners.

Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
GCSEs, A-Levels, university level examinations, dissertations and theses.

Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
I hold a current enhanced CRB. I also hold public liability insurance.

Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I can offer online tuition via Skype, email, Google Docs, Moodle or any other virtual learning environment.

Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I belong to the Institute for Learning, The University and College Union and the National Association of Writers in Education.I have full public liability insurance.

Tell me about some of your current students.
I currently work as a study coach with a visually impaired student who is working towards her English BA. I support her reading, exam preparation and essay writing. I also work with KS3 students, assisting them with their English and creative literacy. I work in a psychiatric hospital as a freelance adult literacy tutor.

Do you have a personal message for students?
I have a range of experience, working in prisons, hospitals, colleges, libraries, galleries and universities as well as schools. I have helped several students to improve their grades, their research skills and their written and spoken English. I like to use creativity in my workshops, as it has improves concentration, memory and learning. I hope you will find my sessions fun as well as useful.
