- My lessons are very lively and are aimed at teaching my foreign students how to communicate effectively in English.
Also to help them with employment, housing, welfare & culture issues. - Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach English to Foreign students (TESOL/TEFL), Life Skills, at all levels, from business to general English.
I am also available as a community interpreter for the Spanish & Portuguese speaking communities in and around London. - Tell me about your qualifications.
- In 2008, whilst living in Madrid, I took my teacher training course at TTMadrid (www.ttmadrid.com) and within 24 hours of completing my course, was teaching Business English at 7.30 am in one of the top four Spanish banks.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I taught for two years in Madrid & Santander, Spain. My students varied from top company directors, marine biologists, engineers, lawyers, doctors, customs officers to teenage students.
Now in London, I am a volunteer teacher at two Latin American charities, LatinAmerican House, Kilburn & LADPP, Kennington, and 1 to 1 private students.
I am currently studying Community Interpreting at the Mary Ward centre in London.
I am fluent in Portuguese and Spanish - How much do you charge?
- My basic charge is GBP.25 / hour. This price depends on the hours each student requires. Different rates for groups. However no more than 4 people.
- Where do you teach?
- I teach in Kilburn & Kennington, London & at students' homes.
I am willing to teach & interprete all over London. - When are you available?
- Available Monday, Tuesday,Thursday, Friday . 09.00 - 21.00 hrs.
Wednesday 19.00 - 21.00. - Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I am currently teaching adults.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- Most of my students where I am a volunteer teacher, have been in London for a few months. most have either no English or very basic English. Priority is to get them talking as quickly as possible and help them with setting up a bank account, registering at the local GP, form filling etc. The main objective is to help them communicate in English, to improve their day to day life in London.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Enhanced Disclosure December 2011.

- My current students are either Spanish or Portuguese speakers from Europe & Central / South America. Some have only been living in the UK (London) for 1 month and are mainly learning English to improve their employment prospects.

- The best way to learn is by having fun.
