- Chemistry GCSE, A-Level and University
Science Key Stage 3 - Tell me about your qualifications.

1st Class Honours Degree Chemistry from Edinburgh University
Masters Biochemistry from Imperial College - What kind of experience do you have?
- I have been tutoring GCSE and A-Level Chemistry since 2004.

I have 3 months experience working in a top London school. - How much do you charge?
- My standard rate is £30 per hour for any tuition.
For 90 minutes I charge £40
For 2 hours I charge £50.
If the distance to the students home is time consuming then a small charge for travel expenses may occur.
For group lessons there is a discount and this will depend on how many students there are in the group. - Where do you teach?
- I generally travel to the student's home. I live in Guildford, Surrey and I will travel to any of the surrounding towns and villages such as Woking, Godalming, Gomshall, West Byfleet, Farnham, Farncombe, Burpham, Merrow, Shalford, Chilworth, Aldershot, Bramley, Dorking, West Clandon, Effingham, Bookham etc. I have probably missed a few out!
Many student's have come to my flat too, and are still welcome to do so, which is based in Central Guildford. - When are you available?

I teach A-Level Chemistry.
I will also teach University level upon request. - Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- AQA, Edexcel, OCR, Salters, iGCSE
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes, I have an Enhanced CRB check from September 2011.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
- This would be done by Skype.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
- My current students range from Key Stage 3 science to A2 Chemistry. Currently, I have a good mix of students of various abilities and personalities. I tutored several of them last year at AS Level and now they are returning for A2. I have seen a big improvement in two of them in particular, one who was struggling for confidence and one who wanted to improve a grade. This is very good to see!
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- You can improve your grades massively with a little help and guidance. Once a week or once a fortnight is enough. If you are well prepared then the exam will be no problem and you will perform to your potential and beyond. A tutor can help you do this. If you come to the sessions keen to learn and with some questions then you will get a lot from it. Also, it is vital that you put in the effort in between sessions and recap on what we did.
