Which subject(s) do you teach?
I am a Specialist Flute teacher and also teach the piano, recorder and integrate Musicianship, aural and theory as separate classes or into each instrumental lesson. Vocal Coaching is also taught as part of aural and musicianship. Workshops are run on a regular basis.


Tell me about your qualifications.
I am a fully qualified Flautist whom studied at the Birmingham Conservatiore under Bernard Herman. I have been teaching the above subjects for over 24yrs and have been a member of the Birmingham Chamber, symphony and other orchestras around the midlands. I have taught in British Forces Germany in schools on the northern Rhine and in the UK. I have been a professional performer for many years.


What kind of experience do you have?
I have been teaching the above subjects for over 24 years and have been a member of the Birmingham Chamber, Symphony and other orchestras around the Midlands. I have taught in British Forces Germany in schools on the northern Rhine and in the UK. I have been a professional performer for many years.
As a Specialist flautist I concentrate on the finer points of playing the flute that often are overlooked such as embouchure, tone, articulation etc.
All my student shave passed their ABRSM exams with a high Merit or distinction to date.


How much do you charge?
Lessons are always on a one to one basis at £30 per hour. 1/2 an hour is charged at £15.00 and 3/4 hour is charges at £23.00.
£2 extra is payable on travel to the students own home.
Exam fees are extra and rehearsals are payable subject to accompanist fees as and when required.


Where do you teach?
I have a studio in Rugby and in Stoneleigh in Coventry. I also travel to Leamington and surrounding areas.


When are you available?
I am available from Monday to Friday daytimes and evenings and Saturday mornings.


Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages from Beginner to diploma in Flute.
Beginner Piano and Recorder are welcome. Theory to Grade 5, Aural tests to grade 5.


Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I prepare students that wish to take ABRSM exams on their instrument fro the relevant grades or Diploma in Flute.


Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
I have an Enhanced CRB check.


Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
Lessons are taught online through SKYPE at the rate of £15 for half an hour. This is available for Flute only.


Do you belong to any professional organisations?
Musicians Union, British Flute Society


Where and with whom did you train?
Birmingham Conservatoire under Bernard Hermann (professional flautist, musical director for the BBC, conductor for The good old days, BBC Northern Dance Band)


Tell me about some of your current students.
I have students of all ages including adults. They are all at differing standards. I have 2 students studying for their Diploma in the Flute and others ranging from grade 1 to 8. Some of my students are learning just for fun on the Piano and the flute.
