- Enjoyable one-to-one tuition in a friendly, creative environment.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach flute, recorder, tin whistle (traditional Irish style) and music theory. I also do one to one music & movement sessions for 2-4yr olds, giving them a firm foundation in a wide range of musical skills so that thy really take off once their bodies and brains are ready for formal intrumental lessons.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I'm currently working towards my Teaching Diploma (Flute).
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I've been teaching music to children, teenagers and adults for about five years now, both privately and in schools. I've been playing since childhood.
I also have several years voluntary experience teaching individuals and groups of children. I'll happily send a full CV out on request. - How much do you charge?
- For one-to-one private tuition I charge £10 per 1/2 hr or £20 per full hour.
- Where do you teach?
- I teach from home in a dedicated teaching room. I'm based in Central Derby. There's ample parking available and I'm a few minutes walk from several useful bus routes. While many of my students live locally, some of them travel from further afield in Derbyshire or Nottinghamshire.
- When are you available?
- Lesson slots are available between 8.30am and 9.00pm most days. I'm available all year round with the exception of occasional holidays.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- All ages are welcome for one-to-one lessons, from 4yrs to 144 yrs. I teach students from beginners and upwards in all my subject areas. I give individual music and movement lessons for 2 - 4 yr olds
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- My students have 100% pass rate in grade exams. I also support students through GSCE and A-level Music.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes. I also have testimonals for you to read, attached to this profile, and contact details for referees available upon request.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
- My students are a wonderfully mixed bag. They include toddlers who can't stop singing, dancing and making noise, youngsters who want to be professional musicians, adults who enjoyed playing as a child and want to try it again and professional musicians who want to explore a second instrument.

- Everybody has music in their soul. Let yours be heard.
