- I am a widely experienced English Teacher with a relaxed and friendly attitude.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach English from KS1 to GCSE, E.F.L. and Literacy.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have a B.A.(Honours,) 2.1. in English, C.E.L.T.A. (E.F.L.) and English Language Diploma. I am a fully qualified teacher with a current C.R.B.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have worked in primary schools teaching literacy for four years, secondary schools as S.E.N. support for three years, taught English Language, Literature and Literacy at secondary level for five years, taught Literacy one to one in an exclusion unit for two years, worked on the Government's Making Good Progress Scheme giving one-to-one tuition in schools (primary and secondary) for two and a half years and started tutoring privately 7 months ago. I have taught English as a Foreign Language in a number of language schools. I have also taught Communication Key Skills at a College of Further Education.
- How much do you charge?
- My fees are as follows: KS1 and 2: £21.00 per hour. KS3: £22.00 per hour. KS4: £22.50 per hour. E.F.L: £20.00 per hour. Travelling is as follows: Up to 5 miles: £3, 5-10 miles £4, 10-15 miles £5, over 15 miles by arrangement. Daytime lessons (i.e. between 9 - 3pm) have a discount of £1 per lesson. Where blocks of 5 lessons are paid for in advance, there is a discount of £1 per lesson. Lessons over one hour also have a discount of £1. I am available to tutor in the daytime, evenings up to 7pm and Saturday mornings.
- Where do you teach?
- I teach in student's homes. If students are under 18 years, I expect the parents/carers to be present in the house. I am available to teach in Bexhill On Sea, Hastings, Eastbourne, Battle, Hailsham and surrounding areas.
- When are you available?
- I am available most days of the week, daytime and early evenings and Saturday mornings. I am happy to teach during school holidays.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach students aged 5 years to adult. KS1 - GCSE, Literacy and English as a Foreign Language.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- I mainly prepare students for GCSE but other exams by request.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- I have an up to date C.R.B.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
- I belong to the General Teaching Council.
- Where and with whom did you train?
- I trained with Bromley I.T.T.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
- I am currently tutoring KS1, KS2, GCSE and Looked After Students.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- I am happy to work with whatever areas of the English curriculum you wish, or in Literacy, to enable you to access texts, forms, writing etc. I am friendly and relaxed, but expect full concentration during the session as well as homework in order to give continuity and promote independent thinking.
