Tell me about your qualifications.
I hold the UK's most advanced post-16 teaching diploma (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector - DTLLS ) as well as the most internationally recognised English language teaching qualification (Cambridge English Language Teaching to Adults - CELTA) certified by the University of Cambridge.
What kind of experience do you have?
I am a qualified UK Corporate Lawyer (Solicitor) having trained and worked at one of London's largest law firms. Before qualifying as a Lawyer, I was a business professional in several large organisations, including two multinationals. I specialise in teaching Business Studies, Law and English as a Second or Foreign Language (ESL & EFL). I have over 10 years' individual and classroom teaching experience having worked as a College Lecturer and Private Tutor both in London and here in Cambridge. Apart from up-to-date academic expertise in my specialist subjects, I am able to offer my students relevant first hand business and corporate law experience. As the founder and owner of Mont-Royal Business Training (a Business, Law and English language training company), I am one of the few Cambridge tutors actively involved in managing and running a business.
How much do you charge?
One FREE one-hour session for every 10 sessions booked and paid in advance.
Where do you teach?
I usually tutor at the student's accommodation, but I am also able to teach at my own home. If you would like tuition at your home, student accommodation or a public venue such as a coffee shop, etc. I charge an additional £5 per session for travel time and costs (i.e. for a 2 or 3 hour session occurring at the same time you would only be charged an additional £5).
When are you available?
I am available 7 days a week throughout the year. During school and college holidays I may only be available in the evenings and on weekends. Please contact me for my current availability.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I am qualified to teach students who are 16 years and over.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I have expertise in preparing students for any of the exams in my specialist subject areas: Business Studies, Law, Cambridge English Language exams, including ESOL, advanced English Cambridge exams such as FCE, CPE, IELTS, ILEC, etc. Please contact me with your specific requirements.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
A CRB check is only legally required for vulnerable or young children who are not being supervised by a responsible adult at the time of their tuition session. I do not hold a current CRB certificate, but have held several in the past and would be willing to renew it if required.
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I am available for on-line tuition and help on Skype for any of my specialist subjects including assistance with CV, job application and interview techniques and proofreading and editing. Please contact me with details of your specific requirements.
Tell me about some of your current students.
I have many years' experience teaching students from around the world. I have worked with students from Asia, Africa, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East. Having worked at various international organisations and studied several foreign languages, I have a great deal of cultural awareness and sensitivity.
