Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach A level Biology, GCSE Biology, Keystage 3 Science. Anatomy and Physiology.

Tell me about your qualifications.
I am proud to be a Graduate of one of our finest Universities, with a BSc Honours in Zoology, and I achieved an Upper Second. I followed this up with the Postgraduate course also offered by the University of Bristol, ie a PGCE.

What kind of experience do you have?
I started teaching in 1978 and since then have taught Biology to A level and Matric (age 18) and Science at top Private schools, both in the UK and also South Africa. I have also taught in top Government schools in Cape Town and Johannesburg, plus I organised and taught 'holiday courses' in Biology. Whilst in Cape Town I was also the Chief Examiner in Physiology for the Western Cape; I set the Matric (age 18) exam papers for the entire Province, and was in charge of a team of markers.
In my last school I was Head of Natural Sciences, a Year Head, in charge of the Prefect body, House Mistress and on the school Senior Management team.

How much do you charge?
The top fee for my classes will be 25 pounds an hour for A level Biology tuition, or 20 pounds for either GCSE or keystage three. We would need to have an initial chat to see what needs to be addressed, and I would not expect payment for this. If you prefer, I can conduct the lessons by Skype, but would prefer lessons to be 'in person' and either the student come to my home near Wickham, or if more convenient, I can come to you. The fee would then include my travel.

Where do you teach?
In practice lessons are more useful if the student comes to my home in Wickham (near Fareham, Hampshire) - I have all my resources and library then on hand and we would not be interrupted. If this is not practical I am prepared to travel up to ten miles.

When are you available?
As I am semi-retired I am happy to tutor at during the week.

Which ages and levels do you teach?
From year seven up to age 18.

Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
A levels, GCSE, B. Tech.

Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
Yes, I do, plus I have full Police clearance for my time in South Africa.

Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
If you have a webcam or at least a head set then tutoring via Skype is possible.

Do you belong to any professional organisations?
Yes, I am a member of the Institute for Learning.

You can do it - sometimes you just need a helping hand to find the way.
