- I teach Maths, Physics, Chemistry & Biology up to GCSE level and Maths and Physics up to A-level as indicated above.
In addition, I also help students prepare for STEP and TSA - assessment tests used by some of the top universities for entry to maths, science and engineering courses, BMAT (Biomedical Admission Test) and Quantitative Reasoning section of UKCAT (Test for admission to Medical and Dental Degrees) - Tell me about your qualifications.
- B.Sc (Physics Hons)
B.Tech (Instrumentation & Electronics Engineering)
M.Eng. (Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering)
PhD (Engineering) - What kind of experience do you have?
- I have been working as a full time private tutor since 2007.
For more than 20 years I have been teaching Mathematics, Science, Electronics and IT Applications at a wide range of levels including GCSE/IGCSE, GCE – AS/A Level, HND, ND, BSc and BEng. Over the years I have also been providing personal tuition to innumerable students and, doing so, have developed an innovative and highly effective method of tutoring.
In 2007 I set up Dr. Ghosh's Tuition in Maths & Science and since then I have been working as a full time private tutor. [Please visit my web site for details] Over the years I have taught innumerable students with remarkable success. My students include those from independent schools such as Harrow School, Merchant Taylors School, the City of London School, Grammar Schools as well as state comprehensive schools. - How much do you charge?
- My charges for one-to-one tuition range from £25 to £35 for an 1-hour session, and £35 to £45 for a 2-hour session depending on the level. For tuition in groups, my charges depend on the group size and start from £8.33/hour. Please contact me or visit my website for details.
- Where do you teach?
- I am based in South Oxhey, Hertfordshire, and teach at a Centre in the area. For tutoring I can also travel to Carpenders Park, Bushey, Watford, Northwood, Moor Park, Harrow, Headstone Lane, Hatch End and other places within reasonable distance from South Oxhey.
- When are you available?
- Being a full-time tutor, I am available from 9:00 am until late at night all seven days a week.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I have the experience in teaching very young children all the way through to adults.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- I have an Enhanced CRB disclosure certificate dated June 2006. However, I am unable to obtain an up-to-date certificate as I am not eligible for one because I do not work for an organisation that requires one.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- I analyse the personal learning ability of every student and adopt an appropriate strategy to help them develop / boost their self confidence, as it is, above all, a lack of confidence that holds most students back from achieving their full educational potential. I help them realise that solving quite complex problems in mathematics and science involves nothing more than simple reasoning, and they come to recognise that this way of learning science and mathematics is easier than merely having the ability to execute manouvres in order to converet questions to answers. Students are, therefore, motivated to succeed and their performance improves considerably.
