Personal Message
I am an experienced teacher currently working within an 'outstanding' inspected school. I offer tutoring to enable children to catch up on the curriculum, focus on targets and consolidate class work through supported homework tasks.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach all subjects within the primary curriculum with a specialism in Literacy.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a BA in Primary Education and studied for my degree at Roehampton University where I gained a 2:1. Alongside my degree, I studied English Literature and Language as a specialist subject to degree level.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have over a decade of experience in working with children. Prior to university I travelled to America to work as a camp counsellor and lifeguard on a children's summer camp. During my teacher training and in more recent years, I have managed two children's activity camps. I have worked as a classroom teacher for the last eight and a half years and have secured posts in three outstanding schools. I also have regular tutoring assignments with primary aged school children which I thoroughly enjoy.
How much do you charge?
For my tutoring services, I charge £30 per hour which includes my travel and preparation costs. For every hour I tutor, I typically spend one hour at home tailoring the session to meet your child's need. After the first hour I offer consecutive hours at a rate of £20 per hour to accommodate for additional tutoring required e.g siblings.
Where do you teach?
I am available to tutor in your home where your child is likely to feel most at ease. I am currently living in Chiswick, West London and can travel to the following towns: Chiswick, Ealing, Hammersmith, Acton, Kew, Sheen, Richmond, Barnes, Mortlake, Brentford.
When are you available?
I am currently available to tutor on:
Monday: 4.30-7pm
Thursday: 4.30 - 7pm
Friday: 4.30 - 7pm
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I tutor all primary school age children. I have taught both KS1 and KS2 with my specialism is KS2.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
My tutoring focuses on the immediate and ongoing need of the child. Are you concerned your child is falling behind in class or is preparing for entrance exams? I am all too aware of the fast pace at which the curriculum moves and in most cases, children just need a little more time spent covering set objectives. I can help your child revisit and consolidate this learning.

Parents often share with me their concerns in supporting their child with homework tasks as the methods they were taught as children differ somewhat to those their child is learning. Perhaps homework is a power struggle between you and your child. I offer my tutoring support in all homework tasks.

End of Key Stage SATs preperations may also be your focus in terms of helping your child attain the level you feel they are capable.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
I have a current and up-to-date CRB disclosure certificate.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I am a current member of the National Union of Teachers and The General Teaching Council. Identification available.
Where and with whom did you train?
I completed my teacher training at The University of Surrey Roehampton; a prestigious teaching college.
Tell me about some of your current students.
The students I currently teach are children in KS2; Years 3 and 4. They range from children working at a Literacy and Numeracy Levels 2-4 and include children with SEN.
Do you have a personal message for students?
I am a fun, reflective and insightful teacher. I have lots of experience to draw on and aim to make learning exciting and relevant to the child. I have a genuine warmth and compassion for children and care about their thoughts, ideas and concerns. We work together to turn weaknesses into strengths that allow for the child to build their confidence level within a reassuring and positive learning environment.
