- Learning should be an exciting, interesting and positive process and understanding my pupils learning style is key. I aim to nurture and foster my pupils to become independent thinkers and learners whilst working hard and aiming high.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach Key Stage 1/2 and 3 English, Maths and Science. Keys Stage 4 English, Business, Biology. This also includes Sats and 11+ preparation. I teach English as a Foreign Language, including General English, Business English, English for Academic Purposes, preparation for IELTS and Cambridge exams. I am very happy to help you improve your Essay Writing, CV writing and Proof Reading skills.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have a Trinity CertTESOL qualification from Trinity College/PTI Dubai (May 2000). Humanities Cert HE (Open) Open University.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I am a committed and enthusiastic teacher. I have taught Key stage 2/3/4 English, Maths, Science, Business and Biology in both mainstream school settings and mentored groups for elite international athletes both in the UK and internationally. Being part of a leadership group in a Key Stage 3/4 and 5 setting I managed Pastoral Care for a school with 1000 pupils implementing Academic Under Achiever Workshops and Self Esteem and Confidence building Courses and Workshops. I have also taught EFL from beginners to Cambridge First Certificates, BEC and IELTS both in Dubai and in the UK and managed an EFL Summer School for international students aged 10 to 18 years in the UK which incorporated English Language learning combined with sports/ activities and sight seeing in London.
- How much do you charge?
- I currently charge £25 per hour for individual lessons. Individual and group lessons available as well as 'Recommend a friend/ family member discount' and 'advance block booking discounts.' Please enquire.
- Where do you teach?
- In the comfort of your own home or at mine in Walton on Thames. Surrey, Central and South London: Weybridge, Esher, Cobham, East Molesey, Kingston upon Thames, Surbiton, Wimbledon, Barnes, Chelsea, Hammersmith, Fulham, Kensington, Putney, Richmond upon Thames, Roehampton, Chiswick, Woking, Guildford. - Which ages and levels do you teach?
- All ages and all abilities (children to adults no upper limit).
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- Sats, 11+, GCSE, IGCSE, IELTS, BEC and Cambridge examinations.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Full CRB clearance (February 2012).
