- I try to make the lessons, educational, structured and fun for all students.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach Acoustic/Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar and Vocals, also music theory. Graded Examinations are available for all instruments taught.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- Grade 5 Piano and Theory of Music; Grade 6 Electric Guitar; OCN level 3 Access to music Teaching Course (equivalent to 2 'A 'Levels).
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have over 14 years teaching experience in various High schools and Primary schools in the Suffolk and Essex area and private tuition . I also have over 20 years of live experience playing with various original and covers bands/ duos. I am still actively writing my own original compositions and also help my students with songwriting and production.
- How much do you charge?
- I charge £27 per hour or £14 per half hour , minimum 24hrs notice for cancellation of lessons.
- Where do you teach?
- I teach from my home studio.
- When are you available?
- I normally teach weekdays up until 8.30pm.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach students from age 9 upwards, starting from total beginner through to intermediate/advanced guitar , bass and vocals.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- If they wish to take graded examinations, I normally suggest either London College of Music, or Rockschool Examination Boards.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes I have a CRB certificate.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
- The General Teaching Council, Musicians Union and R.G.T.

- Tell me about some of your current students.
- I have a varied roster of students , some of my current singing students have been involved in productions at the Spa Pavillion, Felixstowe. A lot of my guitar students are forming bands and writing original material and performing whenever the opportunity arises. One of my more advanced bass students has passed his Grade 8 London College of Music examination with distinction, he is now at University in Newcastle. There are also other students who are learning guitar in a fun and relaxed manner which helps build confidence too.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- Try to set up a practise routine for yourself minimum 20 minutes a day, more if you have the time. Regular practise is the key to improving your musical skills.
