All of the above, but i only teach trumpet, cornet and tenor horn up to Grade 6 level.

What kind of experience do you have?
A graduate from Trinity College of Music, I now enjoy a busy career as freelance musician, educator and arranger in London. I was a member of NYJO for nearly a decade, and have performed worldwide and recorded with a veritable who's who of both UK and international Jazz, Pop and Classical artists such as The Gareth Lockrane Big Band, Norma Winstone, Ska Cubano, The Ting Tings (also wrote horn section parts for live tour), Jazz Jamaica, Aled Jones, The Matt Roberts Big Band, Buddy Greco, Superbrass, White Christmas touring show, The Jay Phelps Big Band, Dame Cleo Laine and the late Sir John Dankworth, The Drifters, The Magic of Motown touring show and The Pimlico Opera company.

I am also an experienced teacher and have worked extensively in schools, universites, adult education and on summer schools. I teach a large number of private pupils around London, online and face to face. I am also a workshop leader for Music Education; I have conceived and fronted numerous workshops, themes including South African Township, All That Jazz and Wind Band Extravaganza.


How much do you charge?
I charge £30 per hour, £25 for 45 mins, and £20 for 30 mins. If I already have a large student base in your area I will not charge travel, and also prices may be negotiable. Please do not hesitate to get in contact to discuss prices.


Where do you teach?
I live in Hackney Wick, right next to hackney wick station on the east london line. I have an excellent space for lessons with piano. I am happy to go to the student's house if it's not more than 1/2 hour travel by car. I teach in all the surrounding areas of London, including Essex and Kent


When are you available?
I am available to teach at any time during weekdays, and teach throughout the school holidays if applicable. Weekends can sometimes prove difficult if I have a gig, but we can always work out an alternative day


Which ages and levels do you teach?
All ages. My current student age range is 9yrs old to 70yrs old!

All grades for trombone and euphonium, both Jazz and Classical. Up to Grade 6 trumpet, cornet and tenor.

I teach all levels of Jazz singing and up to grade 5 classical.


Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
ABRSM, Trinity Guildhall - both Jazz and Classical, theory and practical.


Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
Yes, I have 2.


Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I send out worksheets and i am avaliable to answer any queries or technical problems over email or phone. Lessons must be paid before the worksheets are sent out.


Do you belong to any professional organisations?
Music Education Group, the Jones Hall Academy and Musicians Union


Where and with whom did you train?
Graduated from Trinity College of Music with Bmus(Hons), I studied with Malcolm Earle Smith, Mark Bassey, Roger Harvey, Roger Argente and Simon Purcell.
