- Tahmina is a grammar school-educated graduate and Mathematics teacher from Kent. She is a confident and outgoing person with a positive personality.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- A specialist mathematics teacher up to GCSE. Tahmina also prepares pupils for common entrance exams including Kent 11+ tests. She is an experienced teacher in all areas of the 11+ including maths, English, verbal and non-verbal reasoning.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- Holding a BA honours degree in Mathematics and Education as well as a qualified teacher status, her experience ranges from keystage 2 to 4.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- Tahmina has taught both in primary and secondary schools in Brighton, and Kent as well as tuition centres including 'Extra Tuition Centre' and 'Tuitions for you' based in North West Kent. She is currently working as a secondary mathematics teacher in an oversubscribed academy in the London Borough of Bexley. Tahmina has recently experienced an OFSTED inspection at her current school and was judged overall as a "good teacher" under the new OFSTED framework. Tahmina teaches SEN pupils on a day-to-day basis including those who suffer from discalculia (difficulties with arithmetic), dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, and autism. Tahmina uses engaging and innovative methods to teach diffiicult concepts in mathematics. Using ICT is essential, powerpoints, e-learning such as mymaths and mathswatch are all used to engage learners and consolidate their learning. She is a patient tutor that has high expectations of her pupils.
- How much do you charge?
- Primary/11+ - £25/hour KS3 - £27/hour GCSE Mathematics - £30/hour Depending on your location travel charges may apply. Advance payment of four classes required after first lesson if serious committment required. Otherwise, class booked one at at time for adhoc booking. Advance payment of ten classes = 5% discount. Free class for referral to another family.
Cancellations:
Any cancellations should be given within 48 hours notice period and should be rescheduled. Please be aware my timetable is fully booked and frequent cancellation may result in a tutee losing their allocated time slot. - Where do you teach?
- I am able to teach your child at the comfort of your home. I also offer tuition at my home based in Gravesend. Areas I tutor in include: Gravesend, Northfleet, Southfleet, Meopham, Instead rise, Strood, Rochester, Higham, Greenhithe, Dartford, Crayford etc.
- When are you available?
- I am available weekday evening and weekends. I also provide tuition during holidays as well as term time.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach between KS1 and KS4 - any age at primary upto GCSE level.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- 11+,13+, KS3 mathematics, GCSE Mathematics, QTS numeracy skills test.
