- Personal Message
- Offering one-to-one vocal coaching to all who want to improve their technique and range and are looking to build a Repertoire folder. Anyone is welcome, from absolute beginners to seasoned professionals, wanting to hone their skills even further.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- Teaching Classical technique, musical theatre, rock, pop and any style you choose, whether you’re an advanced singer or a total beginner.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have a distinction at Grade 8 in singing, and a BA(hons) at performance (Musical Theatre) from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts as well as years of ongoing training & experience.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I’ve been teaching for over 8 years now and have performed across the world from the UK to Mexico to Hollywood in concerts, West End productions and Feature Films. I’ve now been recommended as the top vocal coach in London by the Bernard Hiller Acting Studio LA & UK, Independent Drama, and many more. I also receive referrals from other coaches, including Ian Baar and hold presentation / master class workshops for drama schools and agents, in which I always involve my students (great experience and exposure)!
- How much do you charge?
- Classes are usually £45 per hour (currently £40 p/h introductory rate) plus £5 discount for all Bernard Hiller Acting Studio, Casting Fusion, or Bullfrog students and 48 hours notice is required for all cancellations.
I offer other discounts for:
Block bookings. - Pay for 9 lessons and have the 10th free.
New students. - £5 off first 5 lessons.
Referrals from current students - a current student can have £15 off a lesson, if he/she refers a student to me who then takes at least one lesson. - Where do you teach?
- I teach at a new Central London location, which is a 5 minute walk from Marble Arch Tube Station. The venue has all amenities, including a kitchen with tea and coffee. There is a new piano in each room every month, and they are tuned every week.
- When are you available?
- I can work any time of the day and week, with enough notice from you;)
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I usually teach a large age range, from 16 to 60.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
- I’m with British Actors Equity, and Spotlight.
- Where and with whom did you train?
- I was originally trained in opera by Claudio Barr, at his home in north London, then by Jean Aird at her Studio in Devon and finally by Ian Baar at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, with whom I still train. After training I moved into musical theatre and rock, performing in shows such as 'Les Miserable’ (Montparnasse) and 'Jesus Christ Superstar' (Jesus).
- Tell me about some of your current students.
- My current students range from musical theatre professionals working in the west end, to students auditioning for drama schools. I teach dancers and actors wanting to improve their singing, and also one or two older more experienced classical singer, wanting someone to keep an eye on their technique, and keep their voice in good shape.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- If you don’t use it you lose it! So fall in love with your voice and keep singing. Make sure you enjoy every second of it, and work hard - because it’ll be worth it in the end - you’ll soon be dazzling yourself with your own voice.
