Sound therapy - Tell me about your qualifications.
- I hold a First Class Honours BMus from Cork Institute of Technology, Cork School of Music, which is Ireland's largest music conservatory. Each year of my degree I obtained the 'Director's award' for having obtained the highest marks in my degree. In my final year, I obtained the 'Above and beyond' award for the most helpful and academically excellent student. I also hold a Licentiate Diploma in Cello performance from the Associated board of the Royal Schools of Music, as well as Grade 8 piano and music theory (obtained with Distinction).
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have been teaching music for the last 8 years, in one-to-one as well as group settings. All during my college years, I was self-employed as a music teacher. I studied Instrumental pedagogy as one of my degree subjects, so was well equipped to put my studies into practice.
- How much do you charge?
- I charge £30 pounds per lesson. Travel expenses are negotiable, although not usually included in the price of the lesson. Group lessons and cookery lessons are £25 per hour, except for group theory lessons, which are £30. A discounted consultation lesson can be arranged.
- Where do you teach?
- I do not teach at home, as there is not enough room here, but I am based between Camden Town and Kentish Town, which makes these locations ideal. I am willing to travel to anywhere in North, North west, East and West London, provided it is within zone 2 on the tube travel zones.
- When are you available?
- I am studying for an MA part-time at the moment, so am very flexible in terms of hours. I can teach both on weekdays and at the weekends.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach all ages and abilities.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- I prepare my students for graded music exams and diplomas (usually ABRSM, but can also work on other exam board syllabi), GCSE and A Level music and also teaching people who want to play for fun.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes.

- Lessons are possible over Skype.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- I am an extremely enthusiastic, patient and creative teacher. I seek to make the lessons as interesting as possible and cater towards each of my students' individual strengths. I hope to pass on my passion for teaching to you very soon!
