Welcome to my tutor pages profile. Please feel free to find out more about me and the way I teach. If you have any questions or you are not sure whether violin or viola is for you - do get in touch!
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach violin, viola, music theory and musicianship - using principles of Kodaly and Dalcroze approach.

I help my students develop their technique and give clear advice on how to improve tone production and intonation. I give easy to follow instructions and exercises on how to practice and work on the technical aspects of playing an upper strings instrument. I introduce music theory and aural training during my lessons and give advice on how to prepare for Grade exams.
Tell me about your qualifications.
Masters of Music at Trinity College of Music, London (2010 - 2013)
Bachelor of Music (Hons) at Trinity College of Music, London (2007 - 2010)
Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland 2004 - 2007

Additional qualifications:
- Dalcroze Certificate UK training (2010- 2011)
- Elementary and Intermediate Musicianship in Kodaly (2013-14)

There is also a possibility of having music lessons in Polish. / Prowadze lekcje rowniez w jezyku polskim.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have been working with children as young as 5 and, in my private practice, I mostly work with adult amateurs and music enthusiast.
I had been teaching Kodaly Musicianship in Junior Trinity College of Music pilot center in Hampstead and I work with year 2 and year 6 children as part of my work for London Music Masters charity - you can find out more here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohNcxAumQjA&list=UUPviAehXZsHeB6Q7sl07Wcg
I am also a viola tutor and ensemble coach at East London Late Starters Orchestra - where I teach viola technique, pitch development (musicianship) and conduct a string orchestra.

I trained in Dalcroze Eurhythmics and in Kodaly and I use those methods while working with my students. I am a performing musician myself and I have experience of playing in various ensembles and of various musical repertoire. I have made recordings as part of a bigger ensemble for BBC Radio 1 and BBC 3. I am happy to share my knowledge with my students and to guide them on every aspect of violin and viola playing.
How much do you charge?
I charge £35 for 60 minutes violin/viola lesson at my place and £40 if I need to travel to my students place.

Free 30 minutes consultation lesson. Please contact me for more details.
Where do you teach?
I teach at my place (next to Thames Clippers Station, 6 minutes walk from Woolwich Arsenal train / DLR station). Please contact me for more details.
When are you available?
My schedule is flexible. Please - contact me for more details.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach children and adults from the very beginner to advanced level.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
YES. Fully CRB checked.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
Musicians Union, ESTA
Where and with whom did you train?
I studied in Poland, I have studied in Germany (MusikHochSchule in Luebeck) with Naomi Seiler and at the Trinity College of Music in London with Rivka Golani - recognized as one of the greatest violists and musicians of modern times. I had been taking part in a number of masterclasses (Sweden, Hungary, Germany) and teacher training seminars.
I studied Dalcroze with Karin Greenhead and Jacqueline Vann and Kodaly musicianship with David Vinden.
Tell me about some of your current students.
I have a few young students - age between 6 and 9 - we work on music notation, rhythms and violin, an English teacher in her mid twenties, a lawyer, a nurse...
All of my students are very keen and dedicated. Each one is working in his/ her own pace - dealing with different issues and challenges. There is no 'one pattern' applied to everyone - I like to approach my students individually and treat each one of them as an unique case.
Do you have a personal message for students?
I believe we are all able to learn how to play.
Using the exercises I recommend you will build a good violin technique that will give you confidence to play the instrument in a way you never thought you could.
