Hello, my name is Sam and I have been playing clarinet, piano and composing for 11 years. I have been teaching for about 4 years now. I am a multiple scholarship holder at the Royal College of Music, studying for my Bmus (hons) Performance degree.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach clarinet up to any level. I also teach piano up to grade 5 and composition to any level. I can help people for GCSE and A level music performances and compositions and I will also teach music theory.
Tell me about your qualifications.
As an active musician, I have taken many classes that's primary function was to teach you how to be a good teacher. I have also had classes in college on the 'art of teaching'. On top of all of this, I can also boast that I have had 11 years of being taught by some of the best teachers in the UK. I do feel as if I have learnt a lot from them!

I have ABRSM Grade 8 Clarinet and ABRSM Grade 8 Piano.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have been teaching privately for about four years. I find it enjoyable and really love passing the knowledge I have gained onto other people. I am currently employed by The London Borough of Newham on their 'Every Child a Musician' scheme. This involves me going into various primary and secondary schools and teaching small groups of children.
How much do you charge?
All lessons (up to 1 hour traveling time) £25/h or £15 for 30 minutes.

If I have to travel an hour+ then my prices change to £30 /h or £20 for 30 minutes.
Where do you teach?
I will be teaching at the students houses.
When are you available?
I am available most evening (5pm onwards), Tuesday and Friday during the day and weekends.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I am happy to teach all ages. I teach all level of Clarinet and Composition and Beginner Piano up to grade 5.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I am happy to enter my students into ABRSM exams if they want to and it is in their best interest. At no point will I push someone too hard and make them enter an exam that they are not ready for.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes. One from the London Borough of Newham and one from Child Protection Services.
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I am happy to Tutor Online over video chat e.g Skype. Prices remain the same. Teaching online is not preferable, and the lesson would be a lot for productive in person.
