As a PhD student and an avid academic I have a keen interest in a variety of subjects, and I take great pleasure in passing on knowledge and helping others to learn.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
My focus is Ancient History, therefore I can teach a variety of subjects including the Classics (history, art, and archaeology), Near Eastern studies (ancient history, art, archaeology), and general studies in history, English, maths and science. I also have a knowledge of the following languages Ancient Greek, Middle Egyptian, Late Egyptian, Heiratic, and Coptic, all of which I can teach at an introductory level.
Tell me about your qualifications.
AA (Associate of Art) from Brevard Community College
BA in Egyptology from The American University in Cairo
MScT in The Hellenistic World from Ediburgh University
Currently completing a PhD in Classics and Egyptology from the University of Liverpool.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have tutored a variety of subject (maths, biology, English) over the past 5 years. I have worked with ages 11-18, and with Higher Education students. I also have experience working with students who suffer from dyslexia and ADHD.
How much do you charge?
Fees will very depending upon subject, the student's level, number of students and travel. This could range from £15 to £35 per hour, per student.
Where do you teach?
I can teach at the student's home, or another pre-arranged location. I am located in Chellaston, Derby, and am willing to travel upto 30min.
When are you available?
I am available 7 days a week, but require 1 week notice.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
Ages 11 and up.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
No, I am in the process of acquiring this.
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I have access to Skype and e-mail.
