Personal Message
Learning and playing an instrument is very rewarding and great fun. I aim to teach in a way that inspires confidence which helps my students achieve their potential whatever their goals may be.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach the Viola and Violin.
Tell me about your qualifications.
In 2009 I graduated with honours from the Royal College of Music, London with a Bachelor of Music degree.
In 2010 I graduated from the Royal College of Music with a Post Graduate Diploma.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have experience of teaching all ages and abilities and have been teaching privately for 3 years. I also teach in schools and on music summer schools. I have also been involved outreach programmes where I introduced instruments and music to children in schools.
How much do you charge?
I charge £35 an hour or £25 for half an hour if I travel to you. If you travel to me it is £30 an hour or £20 for half an hour.
Where do you teach?
I teach at home in Hither Green SE12 or can travel to your house if it is easier. I am willing to travel anywhere in South East and Central London.
When are you available?
I am available at any time of the week. I organise lessons weekly rather than have a set time for them as my timetable can vary as well as my students timetable.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach students of all ages and abilities, from absolute beginners to Grade 8 and beyond.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes.
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I am able to work over skype or other video services. Payment can be made by BACS or paypal.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
The ISM
Where and with whom did you train?
I trained at the Royal College of Music where my teachers were Ivo van der Werff, Jonathan Barritt, Simon Rowland-Jones and Lawrence Power.
Do you have a personal message for students?
Learning to play an instrument is extremely rewarding and great fun. It is never too late to start playing and with this skill there are lots of opportunities in which to enjoy music with other like minded people.
