- Experienced Piano/Jazz Piano/Music Theory Tutor (also Accompanist) available in the Cambridge Area. Can travel with extra expense of 4p per mile.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- Classical Piano. Jazz Piano. Music Theory. Can also coach and accompany any instrument for exam/concert preparation.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have a BA (Hons) Music Degree from Pembroke College, Oxford. I have an ABRSM Diploma in Piano Performance. Last year I completed an EPTA PPTC (Practical Piano Teaching Course), and am thus a qualified piano teacher. I have a PGCE in Secondary Music because I am also a classroom teacher.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have broad experience in both music and teaching. Whilst at school I attended the Royal College of Music Junior Department, where I studied both Classical and Jazz Piano. I perform regularly when I have the opportunity, and also have extensive experience of accompanying. In my school teaching posts I have conducted and run Choirs and a Swing Ensemble. I have regularly been giving private piano tuition for the past three years and have experience of teaching a wide range of abilities. (Beginner - Diploma Level).
- How much do you charge?
- Charge £30 per hour and £15 for 1/2 an hour. Can travel in the Cambridgeshire area, charge 4p extra per mile.
- Where do you teach?
- I teach in my own home, at 6 Sherlock Road, Cambridge, but am willing to travel within a half-hour radius of Cambridge. I would charge 4p extra per mile.
- When are you available?
- At the moment, Thursday Afternoon, Friday Morning and Afternoon, Saturday Afternoon. From April probably each day of the week, tbc.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach all ages and abilities. I have some students who are complete Beginners, and my most advanced student is at Diploma level.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- ABRSM Exams, Grades 1-8 and DipABRSM
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes I do. As I am also a schoolteacher I have just updated it from September 2011.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
- General Teaching Council
- Where and with whom did you train?
- Trained at Royal College of Music, did Undergraduate degree in Music at University of Oxford. Taught by Danny Driver (RAM), Neil Roxburgh (RCM), Raymond Fischer (RCM)
- Tell me about some of your current students.
- I teach students of all abilities, ranging from beginners who are working on Piano Time Book 1, to my most advanced who recently attained Grade 8 with 124 Merit and is moving on to Diploma material.

- I am fully committed to helping you achieve your best regardless of your level.
