- I am a multi-instrumentalist who is experienced in a number of genres - feel free to get in contact!
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- Primarily I am a clarinetist and clarinet tutor, but I play and teach all single reeds (from bass to Eb clarinet and all saxophones). I teach other woodwind such as penny-whistle and all recorders to a high standard (all ABRSM grades in the latter)
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have recently gained a first class honours degree from the Leeds College of Music, and I am about to embark on the MMus in Solo Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have taught privately for around 6 or so years. This was mainly 1:1 teaching, but with some experience in groups as well (from small specialised ensembles to workshops in youth centres).
- How much do you charge?
- I charge £15 for half an hour and £25 for a full hour. However if I were to teach a group of 3 children for example the fee could be dropped (subject to negotiation)
- Where do you teach?
- I am willing to teach both at my own home and at students houses. Please note that if I have to travel a little further to your home, I will need to adjust my fee accordingly. (I am willing to travel to areas within Greater Manchester as well as Rochdale, Oldham, Bury and Salford)
- When are you available?
- I am flexible in my availability - just name your time and day I will endeavour to fit around you!
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach everyone from the age of 6 upwards, at every level.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- I can prepare students for ABRSM Practical/Theory exams, or I can merely guide individuals to making the best sound with their instrument.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- No
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
- I use skype to conduct lessons online.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
- I am a member of the Musicians' Union and have been for around 7 years.
- Where and with whom did you train?
- I have trained with Mr Einion Dafydd, Mr Luca Luciano and Mr Colin Honour, and attended workshops with Linda Merrick and Alan Hacker.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- I am one who believes that everyone is different in their approach to life and learning - as a result no two students lessons are the same. Come to me and I will help you discover how to learn and, more importantly, enjoy music through your instrument
