I'm an English and Music teacher with experience teaching classes in secondary school, night school and university and tutoring one-to-one and in small groups.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
English KS1, KS2 and KS3; Music KS1, KS2, KS3, Piano, Keyboard, Flute, Recorder, Beginner Classical Guitar, Aural, Music Theory and History, Composition, Library Cataloguing and Classification.
Tell me about your qualifications.
HDE (PGCE equivalent); BA majoring in English and History; BMus majoring in Music History, Theory, Piano; MA Information Management (Library)
What kind of experience do you have?
12 years teaching secondary school (Music and 1st language English); 20 years teaching one-to-one lessons (English 2nd language and Music); 6 months teaching night school (English 2nd language); 6 years library experience; 3 years teaching MA students library cataloguing and classification. My students have been from diverse cultures, ages and intellectual abilities.
How much do you charge?
The consultation meeting is free. Many young children have better concentration with 15 minute lessons at £7.50; I also teach 20, 30, and 45 minute lessons. I charge extra if I travel to the student(s). There are discounts for group lessons or if 2 or more people in the same family have single lessons one after the other. There is a pensioner discount too.
Where do you teach?
I teach at my home and at my students' homes in Pinner, Eastcote, Ruislip and surrounds. Other towns nearby include Harrow, Ickenham, Uxbridge, Northolt, Northwood and Ealing.
When are you available?
Currently I have available slots on Fridays and Saturdays; please ask me about other times as there are a few weekday morning and evening slots. I do teach in school holidays by arrangement.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
From 5 to adult (any age).
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
ABRSM exams in music theory, practical and aural.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
Yes from my part time job involving student service.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?

Tell me about some of your current students.
Some of my current students include: a gifted 12-year-old receiving English tuition for enrichment, an 11-year-old preparing for Grade 3 Piano ABRSM, a 70+-year-old preparing for Music Theory Grade 5 ABRSM and a 5-year-old beginning keyboard.

Dear prospective student, my lessons will be tailored to your personality and aims. Even while preparing you for exams, I promise to give you varied activities and also some fun.
