Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach Guitar and Bass in all styles but specialising in Jazz and associated genres (funk, fusion, world etc). I alo provide tuition in music theory, composition. arranging and music technology/recording.

Tell me about your qualifications.
BA Honours Degree in Jazz and Contemporary World Music
National Diploma in Popular Music
Grade 8 Guitar
Grade 8 Bass

What kind of experience do you have?
I have been gigging for around 8 years and teaching for the last four. I also have some experience of teaching classes, and I have played with numerous outfits from duos to big bands on both guitar and bass.

How much do you charge?
£20 per hour
£16 for 45 minutes
£12 for 1/2 an hour

Where do you teach?
In a custom purpose built studio located in Greetland, near Halifax. I will also travel to students homes within west yorkshire.

When are you available?
I teach every day including weekends, and am available in daytime and evening hours.

Which ages and levels do you teach?
7 years+ and all abilities.

Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
I have an enhanced CRB disclosure from Truro College, where I was teaching until early 2009.

Do you belong to any professional organisations?
The Registry of guitar Tutors

Where and with whom did you train?
Plymouth University (Truro College) with Viv Rodd, Alan Thompson and Dr. Bhesham Sharma. Their credits include Sonny Rollins, Charles Mingus, McCoy Tyner, Gilad Atzmon and many others.

Tell me about some of your current students.
I have a wide range of students from age 7 to 54, with some absolute beginners and some studying for music degrees.

Do you have a personal message for students?
“A great teacher is one who realizes that he himself is also a student and whose goal is not dictate the answers, but to stimulate his students creativity enough so that they go out and find the answers themselves.”
