I am a professional musician living in London. I use my experience of professional performing situations to help my students develop quickly. I believe in pursuing whatever it is that you enjoy playing and what inspires you.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach a wide range of styles and genres on the Saxophone, namely Jazz, Classical and Pop. I also teach Classical Clarinet and Flute as well as Piano (Beginner-Intermediate), Harmony, Theory, Composition, Improvisation, Transcription and Sibelius software. I provide additional tutoring for GCSE and A Level Music.
Tell me about your qualifications.
BMus (Hons) First Class, Trinity College of Music, first study Alto Saxophone.
Grade 8 in ABRSM/GSMD Grade Exams on Saxophone, Clarinet, Piano, and Grade 6 on Organ and in Music Theory.
A levels in Music (A), History (B), English (A) and French (B)
11 GSCEs at A*-A grade.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have many years of experience playing in professional situations and as a saxophone teacher. I have taught Clarinet, Flute, Piano and Music Theory extensively in the last few years. I have much experience of teaching individuals, small groups and workshops in schools, and I am currently the saxophone teacher for 'Stax' weekly music centre (Southwark Music Service), teaching saxophone and creative musicianship to ages 9-11.
How much do you charge?
My basic rate is £25.00/hr for instrumental tuition.
Where do you teach?
I teach at my home in SE18 or I am able to travel to you, depending on travel time and cost.
When are you available?
I am usually available daytime or evening on most weekdays, saturday afternoons and most sundays.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
All ages, all abilities on Saxophone and Clarinet. Beginner Flute and Piano.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
If requested I can prepare students for Music Theory Exams and Instrumental Grade Exams and can offer assistance with academic studies, for example GCSE and A Level Music.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?

Where and with whom did you train?
I have studied with some of the leading jazz musicians and educators in the country, including Simon Purcell, Martin Speake, Mark Lockheart, Peter King and Mornington Lockett and Julian Siegel. I have attended masterclasses by internationally renowned figures and educators such as Dave Liebman, Jerry Bergonzi and Ethan Iverson.
Tell me about some of your current students.
I currently teach a number of adult students and schoolchildren ages 8-11 on a regular weekly basis.
Do you have a personal message for students?
My teaching style is flexible; I allow the unique learning style of each of my students dictate how I approach specific areas of improvement. I also have much experience with learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyspraxia.
