Cambridge graduate with Master's Degree and Diploma in German. Obtained one of the top 5 scores in the UK for English. High academic standards, can also teach music. Friendly and patient.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
Any academic subject listed above, and music, including piano, violin, viola, singing saxophone, theory and composition.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have BA (hons) from Cambridge, a MusB and MMus. I also have the University of Cambridge Diploma in German, and an ABRSM Diploma in Piano.
What kind of experience do you have?
I started teaching privately and at a music centre while still at university, and found it to be one of my most rewarding experiences at Cambridge. Prior to that, I had experience teaching Music and German to school children, and often enjoyed helping friends with their homework after considerable demand. As a volunteer, I also taught piano and creative writing to people with mental health difficulties. Having completed my MMus at the Royal Northern College of Music, and returned from a six-month artistic residency at the Banff Centre in Canada on a full scholarship, I am pleased that teaching is once again an important part of my life. I look forward to meeting you!
How much do you charge?
As listed above.
Where do you teach?
Either in my home in Greenwich or at your home, if travel expenses are covered. I do not drive.
When are you available?
At any mutually convenient time. Can do evenings and weekends.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
Any age and level.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
Any.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
Yes.
Do you have a personal message for students?
My approach would be tailored to suit the individual and their needs. A friendly, informal atmosphere would be maintained, with emphasis on quick progress and an enjoyment of learning. The sessions can be geared towards examination performance, with advice on study skills and exam technique, or towards personal interest and broadening of intellectual horizons.
