- If you are looking for a flexible & enthusiastic teacher, then I would like to teach you! I have recently graduated from the RCM and have a wealth of both teaching and playing experience. Please don't hesitate to contact me!
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach all brass instruments, specialising in Tuba & Euphonium to Grade 8/Music Conservatoire entry standard.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- Music qualifications: BMus(Hons) 1st class, Royal College of Music (2011)
Modules: education & outreach, teaching
Dip ABRSM (Tuba)
A Levels: History, Economics and Maths - What kind of experience do you have?
- I first began teaching in 2006, as an Assistant to Director of Music at Mount House School, Devon. I gained experience giving peripitetic help as well as class music lessons to children 4-13. Following that, in 2007 I started work on various outreach and education projects in schools throughout London. Through this, I have worked with a whole cross-section of ages, from children to adults, presenting and assisting workshops. This led me to teach privately, my first pupil starting in 2008 - I have been doing so ever since.
In terms of professional performance work I have played with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, am currently on their Foyle Future Firsts Scheme and am freelancing across London and the UK. - How much do you charge?
- I charge £30/hr or £18 for a half hour.
- Where do you teach?
- I am based in Camberwell, South East London where I have a large room available for teaching. However, I am prepared to travel anywhere within Zones 1, 2 and 3. During school holidays/weekends I frequently travel to my family home in Cardiff, where I could also organise individual lessons.
- When are you available?
- My times are flexible.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- Tuba/Euphonium: any age, beginner - grade 8+.
Brass: any age, beginner to grade 6. - Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes.
- Where and with whom did you train?
- Classically trained at Royal College of Music, London.
