- I am a freelance musician and music tutor based in Southfields, looking for students who want to enjoy learning to play a musical instrument and can work hard to achieve their goals.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- Instrumental lessons on any brass instrument from beginner to advanced level.
Music Theory lessons from beginner to advanced level.
Piano lessons from beginner to intermediate level.
Recorder lessons from beginner to intermediate level. - Tell me about your qualifications.
- I studied at the Royal Academy of Music between 2003 and 2008 and was awarded both BMus and MMus degrees from the University of London. I also hold the DipABRSM diploma of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and was awarded the Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music teaching diploma (LRAM) with distinction in 2006.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have extensive experience in private instrumental teaching and have held peripatetic teaching posts at two schools, one independent and one state primary.
- How much do you charge?
- The first consultation lesson is free - after that lessons are charged at £22 per half hour, £40 per hour. Reasonable travel expenses are included.
- Where do you teach?
- I will teach you at your own home in London, Wandsworth, Southfields, Earlsfield, Wimbledon, Putney, Fulham, or anywhere within 30 minutes' travelling time of SW18.
- When are you available?
- I am currently available during weekends, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. If you would like to arrange lessons at other times, please enquire.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I am happy to teach students of any age from 6 years upwards. Music lessons can stimulate your child's learning and improve their academic achievement.
It is never too late to begin learning an instrument and I have known many adults start as complete beginners and progress quickly, reaping the benefits and enjoyment of music. - Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- I can submit my students as candidates for Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) examinations in performance or music theory.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- My most recent CRB enhanced disclosure certificate was issued in 2011.
