Drama Certificate (2001) - What kind of experience do you have?
- I worked as a tutor for 7 years during my studies and my acting work in Barcelona. I taught a wide range of people (from 11 to 55 years old). Basically, I taught Spanish, Catalan and Biology in one-to-one lessons to native and non-native Spanish speakers. Besides, I worked as a drama teacher for groups (adult and children) in the TeatreJoc School (Gava, Barcelona).
Currently, I am tutoring Spanish in London. I've been tutoring for 5 years and I have taught to Primary, GCSE, A-level and Adult students and I have had a great feedback from them. All the students that were interested in a long period of learning are still undergoing my lessons. I have also worked as a Spanish interpreter and translator for the West End musical El Zorro.
As a drama teacher/tutor I am a freelance lecturer at the London International School of Performing Arts where I teach impro and movement to a postgraduate level and I am also an Artist in Resdience at Mulberry School for Girls where I usually teach devising. I have also worked in youth drama projects (Interact Project, Wimbledon Youth Theatre Group,etc...). - How much do you charge?
- I charge £25 per hour.
- Where do you teach?
- I teach at students' homes. I am based in Leytonstone but I am willing to travel to east, south-east, west, central and north london. I have students all over London.
- When are you available?
- I am usually available from monday to saturday from 10am to 10pm.

- I teach all ages and all levels.

- I am currently tutoring 6 students. two of them are getting ready for their A levels, three of them are Adult learners and one of them is starting the GCSE level.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
- My lessons are specially designed for each student’s particular needs. Fortunately, having studied two degrees of such a different nature (Veterinary and Drama) made me acquire the right balance to be able to focus in important concepts and teach them in a creative way making the student remember complex subjects just by using simple study techinques.
Whilst teaching Spanish, I usually pay special attention to oral expression, pronunciation, reading comprehension, grammar and syntax rules. From the first lesson the student speaks Spanish and I work to develop the student's confidence in doing so. I tend to follow the syllabus in GSCE and A-levels but I also use books designed for non-native speakers to be able to really improve the weakest points of each student. Besides, I provide supplementary audiovisual material and books as a means of giving the opportunity to my students to familiarise with Spanish Language and Culture.
When I teach drama I try to use the game, the playfulness as the base for learning. Paying attention to rythms, the space and the physicality is the basics in order to be able to apporach characters and to develop each individual's creativity is one of my aims. Being trained in Starsberg's method as well as Lecoq's physical theatre method has given me the right balance to be able to approach all kinds of theatre and to provide what the student needs.
I do enjoy comunicating my knowledge, seeing my students improve and becoming passionate about a subject.
