- I am passionate about languages and teaching them. I believe anyone can learn a language and try to create, fun, imaginative yet focused lessons to aid learning!
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I teach French, Spanish and English (not as a foreign language.) I am also tutor in preparation for LAMDA examinations.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have a Double First Class Honours degree in French and Spanish from the University of Exeter, with distinctions in spoken languages and have just graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have tutored on and off for a year whilst at drama school, but am now eager to make it my full-time occupation when not acting. I have spent some time in the Dominican Republic, Cambodia and France teaching children aged between 4-18 which I found to be a very fruitful experience.
- How much do you charge?
- I charge 50 pounds an hour PER STUDENT but would consider certain discounts for group lessons. Transport costs are also chargeable outside of Zone 2.
- Where do you teach?
- I am happy to teach at the home of the student, as I feel it is an environment which they feel most comfortable and thus productive for learning. I am mainly based in London but am happy to travel a little way out of London to Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent and Surrey. and. My family home is in Worcestershire.
- When are you available?
- I am available full time.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I have taught 4-18 year olds in the past but would be interested to work with older students and adult learners too.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- YES.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
- I would be happy to receive homework and essays via email.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
- I have recently been working with a young student who is working towards his Spanish GCSE. After an initial session where we highlighted his main concerns we worked together to make him feel more comfortable in those areas over a period of 2 months and he is now feeling much more confident walking into the exam. Our lessons were structured but created a relaxed atmosphere in order to encourage the pupil to engage in the work but also feel I am someone who is helping them with their work rather than a traditional 'teacher" figure. I think this is very important.
