- Experienced, versatile and dynamic tutor of all brass instruments.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- I am an all-round brass tutor, with a particular specialism in trombone and low brass. I am also fully able to tutor in ABRSM Music Theory and GCSE/"A" Level Music. Instruments I teach include: Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, Baritone, Cornet, Flugelhorn, Tenor Horn, French Horn and Tuba.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I hold a Bachelor of Music with Honours from the Royal Northern College of Music. I am also a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music, and am currently studying towards becoming a Fellow of the Royal Schools of Music.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I am an experienced freelance musician and tutor, and have performed in a wide variety of settings and circumstances. I pride myself on my versalitilty; I have performed with orchestras, brass bands, wind bands and chamber ensembles as well as currently being active as a classical soloist and performance artist. I have a particular interest in contemporary music, and have had several new works written for me. In addition to this, I am an experienced jazz musician, and have performed with big bands and smaller ensembles. I bring a rounded and versatile approach to teaching, and tailor each lesson to each students needs and aspirations.
- How much do you charge?
- I generally charge £25 per hour, and £15 for the half hour. I am available for educational workshops, and my fee begins at £50 an hour - though prices and times for these are negotiable.
Also, all new students recieve a free consultation lesson and will also recieve a free lesson for each new student they refer to me! - Where do you teach?
- I have a fully equipped teaching studio in Sale, Cheshire. I can travel to surrounding areas for home lessons for a small extra cost to cover petrol.

- I am generally available on afternoons on weekdays, and on Saturday mornings. Detailed times can be arranged upon contact.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- All ages and levels are welcome!
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- I teach up to ABRSM diploma standard on all brass instruments (Grades 1-8, plus DipABRSM) For casual learners, these exams are by no means compulsory - although they are excellent qualifications to hold and look great on your CV!
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- Yes.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
- Incorporated Society of Musicians, International Trombone Association.
- Where and with whom did you train?
