Music is a wonderful subject, there is nothing like being able to sit in front of hundreds of people and be able to show the world your talents and skills.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach most Brass instruments, including Tuba, Bass/Tenor Trombone, Euphonium, Baritone Horn, Tenor Horn, Cornet/Trumpet/Flugelhorn, and even Ophicleide! I even have a few instruments available to rent which are published and updated regularly on my website.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I am currently a fourth year student at Birmingham Conservatoire, due to Graduate in June with Bmus(hons) Degree in Performance.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have experience teaching most brass instruments to adults and children. I also have coaching experience, taking sectionals in brass bands.

My playing experience ranges across the board. I have alot of orchestral playing with orchestras such as Birmingham Symphonia, Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra, Solihull Symphony, Halesowen Symphony Orchestra, Walsall Symphony Orchestra, Lichfield Sinfonia and City of Birmingham Symphony Youth Orchestra on both Tuba and Bass Trombone. I have experience in brass bands playing with Desford Colliery Band, Flowers Band, Sovereign Brass, Langley Band, Cubbington Silver Band, West Mercia Police Band and Halesowen Brass Band on BBb Bass, Eb Bass, Bass Trombone, Baritone Horn, Euphonium and Tenor Horn. I also have Wind Orchestra experience playing with the National Youth Wind Orchestra of Great Britain and Birmingham Symphonic Winds on Tuba, Bass Trombone and Euphonium. I also have various smaller ensemble playing experiences including Indian wedding bands, bavarian beer bands, jazz orchestras, swing bands, contemporary music ensembles and brass ensembles of several sizes. My own professional ensembles include Von Bauer Bavarian Beer Band and Bard Brass Ensemble.
How much do you charge?
I usually charge £20 per hour (or £12 for half an hour) on all instruments apart from tuba, in which i am a specialist teacher and charge £25 (£14 per half hour), plus £1 for travel expenses if teaching at a pupils home. I will usually provide an hour consultation lesson for £15 on all instruments, and group lessons are negotiable.
Where do you teach?
I am willing to travel anywhere in the Birmingham area, particularly North Birmingham (Kingstanding, Sutton Coldfield, Erdington) and around the City Centre (Harbourne, Selly Park, Selly Oak, Edgbaston), usually teaching at either Birmingham Conservatoire or at a pupils home.
When are you available?
I can usually teach most weekends and evenings, or various times during the week that are mutually suitable. School holidays tend to be more flexible about when i can teach.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I will teach all ages and any level.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I can prepare students for any grade exams, diplomas, or even just to play in their local band.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
Not at present.
Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I play professionally with Von Bauer Bavarian Beer Band, Bard Brass Ensemble and Band Baja UK.

I am also a member of the Musicians Union.
Where and with whom did you train?
I studied at Birmingham Conservatoire under Graham Sibley Principle Tuba of the CBSO), Dave Vines (Principle Bass Trombone of the CBSO) and Bob Hughes (Ex Bass Trombone of the London Symphony Orchestra)..
Do you have a personal message for students?
Music is a wonderful subject, there is nothing like being able to sit in front of hundreds of people and be able to show the world your talents and skills, the feeling of adrenaline thrill as you do what you love. In a lot of professions your acheivements are hidden or given a pat on the back or a certificate and then forgotten again. In music your acheivements are celebrated every time you perform, welcomed with applause from your audience and appreciated, no matter how big or small the amount of spectators, and there is no feeling in the world that makes you feel the same way. It does take a lot of work, but even along the way you are being applauded and appreciated, and the rewards areamazing.
