I love to teach people about brass playing because I love to play! Finding the right teacher is so important, so please do not hesitate to contact me about having a consultation lesson!
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach french horn, trumpet, trombone, euphonium and tuba.
I teach music theory as well, but integrate this in to my brass teaching as well.
Tell me about your qualifications.
Masters of Arts - Royal Academy of Music (French horn)
LRAM - Royal Academy of Music (teaching certificate!)
Bachelor of Music - University of British Columbia (Canada)
Grade 8 voice and piano as well.
What kind of experience do you have?
I have taught brass pupils at many ages and abilities.
I have coached brass ensembles as well as lead section rehearsals.
I have taught individual music theory lessons as well as group lessons.

15 pounds/30 minutes.
Travel outside of zone 1 & 2 is an extra 5 pounds.
Where do you teach?
I prefer to teach in the students' home.
When are you available?
My schedule is quite flexible. I am available weekdays, weekends during the day and most evenings!
Which ages and levels do you teach?
Beginner brass -- Start your brass playing experience with a qualified teacher who has experience teaching all ages - youth to adult. Learn the basics of playing a brass instrument while playing fun tunes. Learn to read music as well as how to 'play by ear.'
Intermediate brass -- Prepare for ABRSM examinations and auditions, expand on your theory rudiments, learn new repertoire and performance techniques.
Theory -- Learn the foundations of music theory through fun games and simple exercises to enhance your musical knowledge.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
ABRSM exams, auditions, or just help becoming a better player.
Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
Yes.
Where and with whom did you train?
At the Royal Academy of Music I studied with Martin Owen, Richard Watkins, Michael Thompson and Andrew Clark. Currently I am studying with Jonathan Lipton of the London Symphony Orchestra.
