- I have been working as a tutor for the past five years where I have been tutoring students at three main levels - GCSEs, A/Ls and University. I have also been a teacher for some time at my sixth-form where I taught Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics for GCE A/L students. I could not continue teaching there because I had to continue my higher education. More recently, I've tutored Further Mathematics at Khalsa College, London. Tutor agencies I work for include First-tutors, UK-tutors, Hometutors, Active-tutors and Fleet-tutors.
- How much do you charge?
- There will be an additional £12.50/hour for group of 2 students and an additional £20/hour for group of 3 or more students.*
*I do not teach more than 6 students at a time to ensure high individual attention. - Where do you teach?
- I teach at my place of stay in Uxbridge and at students' homes (located all over London and Berkshire)
- When are you available?
- I am available to tutor throughout the week (weekdays+weekends) from early morning to late evening (however, lessons will be held during mutually-convenient times).
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I teach students of various ages and levels - ranging from GCSEs and A-levels to Postgraduate level.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- No, I havent taken a CRB check as yet! This is not a legal requirement for tutors. However, the contact details of my past/current students will be given as reference if requested.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
- I have previously used SKYPE for online tuition but I would advise against online tuition unless no other choices are available.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
- Associate Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE)
Associate Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) - Tell me about some of your current students.
- 1) Yousuf - Graduated with 2.1 Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering at Queen Mary, University of London. He achieved A-B Grades for maths and advanced maths for the past three academic years (during which period I have been his tutor).
2) Joe - Currently doing Level 3 Mathematics at University of Sussex. He decided to retake his A-levels maths (due to unsatisfactory performance in the first sitting) and also study A-level further maths privately under my supervision during this gap year. He attained an 'A' grade for maths and 'B' for further maths.
3) Omar - I have taught him A-level maths and physics for his exams in Jan and May 2010. He is now doing MEng Aerospace Engineering at Brunel University, West London.
I have got many other students at various ages/levels. These students have been very happy to work with me. The majority (about 70%) of my students have attained 'A' grade in subjects which I have helped them with. The rest have attained 'B' and 'C' (minority) grades. There have not been any grades lower than a 'C' ever since I have been a tutor. I think this is a phenomenal record and I have been working hard to keep this standard of teaching at its highest level. - Do you have a personal message for students?
- Student life is the easiest, enjoyable and most important part of modern life. So be focused and keep on working hard!
