- Everyone should have the opportunity to try a musical instrument – it helps develop fine motor skills and coordination, a sense of confidence and discipline but most importantly, it’s fun!
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- Violin - I can also help prepare for the music theory element of grade exams.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- I have been playing the violin since I was 3½ and studied at the Royal College of Music Junior Department with Pamela Spofforth and Prof. Grigori Zhislin and at the Purcell School of Music with Jean Fiske and Jack Glickman.
- What kind of experience do you have?
- I have been performing since I was 5, and continue to play solo recitals and take part in as many orchestras and chamber ensembles as I can fit in. I also teach privately, and as part of the Regis School of Music in Bognor Regis.
- How much do you charge?
- £24 per hour - £12 per 30 minutes. Discount negotiable for block bookings of 10 lessons.
I prefer to teach on a one:one basis – I believe this produces better, and faster results than group lessons, although I actively encourage parents to stay and observe, or even participate in the lessons if they wish to do so. I offer 3 trial lessons for each new pupil and I have instruments available to borrow for this period - this ensures that the pupil (and parents) are happy about the commitment to continue studying before having to outlay for a new instrument of their own. - Where do you teach?
- I teach from home in Bexley, and at The Regis School of Music in Bognor Regis, West Sussex every Monday during term time.
- When are you available?
- I am available at various times through the week - please contact me and we can arrange a mutually convenient lesson time. Regularity is key and I prefer to keep to a set lesson time every week.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
- I take pupils from 6 upwards including adults of all ages - beginners and advanced pupils.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
- Associated Board, and Trinity Grade Examinations.
- Do you have an up-to-date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure certificate?
- I have a CRB disclosure certificate.
