What kind of experience do you have?: "Chris studied music in South Wales under Madame ‘Winnie’ Lloyd where she began her career as a very young ‘Yum Yum’ in the Mikado, gaining her LRAM(performer) and then BA Hons., Wales. She belonged to the Resolven Operatic Society and the Morriston Aelwyd Choir, often singing alongside the Morriston Orpheus. Chris won the National Eisteddfod Lieder and Cud Adrodd prizes when only sixteen! During her career with the Welsh National Opera, she performed many of the leading roles opposite well-known names such as Owen Brannigan and Geraint Evans. She is also in great demand for Oratorio, such as the Creation and The Messiah. Her singing takes her all over the world, especially the U.S.A. She has made recordings and is working on several CD's at present. She has on many occasions performed the ‘Rule Britannia’ solo in Promenade Concerts. She returns to South Wales each year, to perform solos in a major pre-Christmas event in December. She has sung in San Francisco and several times in Rochester, New Hampshire, which she visited for the first time in May ’98 with Roger Sayer (Rochester Cathedral Organist) in highly acclaimed concerts, which included the Schubert Mass in G and his “Shepherd on the Rock”. Schubert’s work, particularly his Lieder, being one of her specialities. While in Rochester on this visit Christine was presented with the Freedom of The City. She has performed for B.B.C. TV and has also performed in Canterbury Cathedral and on one occasion performed one of her own compositions. She has recorded programmes for Millenium7 TV (on Sky). Christine regularly travels to Spain, where she does an annual spring concert in Fuengirola. Christine is a member of the I.S.M. (Incorporated Society of Musicians) (This year she accepted the invitation of the chairman of the South Eastern Centre of the ISM to become secretary), M.U., the A.O.T.O.S. (Association of Teachers of Singing), the Institute of Vocologists and The British Voice Association. Christine teaches regularly as well as performs. She has the honour of being Chairman of the Medway Festival of Music, Speech and Drama. In 2006 she was elected to the Royal Society of Musicians. She has been invited to sing in the prestigious Music festivals of Rome and Gozo and has been asked to Singapore by the Lieder Society for a recital tour, she has sung with the Warlock Singers. During Mozart’s anniversary she received many invitations to sing in celebration concerts. She has appeared at The Barbican, London. In the summer of 2009 Christine performed in the Victoria International Festival, Gozo and at St. David's Cathedral."
How much do you charge?: Standard rate £30/hr, discount for students: £25/hr.
Where do you teach?: I teach at home.
When are you available?: I teach by appointment, mostly week days & evenings.

Do you belong to any professional organisations?: ISM, AOTOS, RSMusGB.
Tell me about some of your current students.: In the last 3 years we have achieved 8 admissions to colleges of music and five of our students have reached the Boot Camp stage of X-factor.
Do you have a personal message for students?: I help my students to improve and reach higher standards by making sure they enjoy their music and singing. We work towards Associated Board exams, music college entry, particular performances or just singing for fun. Lessons are tailored to each student's interests and goals.
