- Vocal Ovation provides professional vocal & stage performance tutoring & coaching in a completely safe, relaxed & fun environment. The lessons do follow a general structure, however because we cater for all abilities, all ages & many different singing styles, we take a totally flexible approach, so as they can be tailored to meet the specific needs & experience of every person.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
- We focus is in 3 main areas,
• Technique & Vocal Health
A wide range of tried & tested vocal exercises are used to develop your voice safely, improving tone, clarity, range, pitch accuracy, smoothing out any of those dreaded breaks & weaker areas & generally creating a more interesting, compelling & dynamic sound that can be immediately distinguished as being your voice.
• Performance & Delivery of a song to an audience
We will help you pick the right songs for you & your style, understand their meaning & connect to it so that your performance is so personal to you it creates an audience reaction you’ve never fully experienced before!
• Confidence & Self Belief
A big part of the coaching at Vocal Ovation is that no one is judging you & you get as many chances as you need & as much constructive feedback as it takes to get you over whatever vocal or performance issues you may be having. Singing should be enjoyable whether you a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, so it’s vital that you feel comfortable & confident in your ability & never feel out of your depth. - Tell me about your qualifications.

- Tell me about some of your current students.
- I have students of all ages, here are some of their comments:
“I literally can’t wait for my lesson each week & can honestly say; having lessons with Julie is the best thing that’s happened to me for my music, she definitely brings out the best in me & my voice!” Carys John, Allendale
“I learnt more in the first 2 hours I spent with Julie, than I did in a whole year of singing classes at Performing Arts College in Newcastle." Leif Halverson, Gateshead
“Julie has the ability to see your true potential so will really push you and do whatever it takes to get you from good to great. She is a true inspiration.” Lara Ross, Ashington
Vocal Ovation’s individual approach flows through everything they do including making lesson times & dates as accessible as possible for everyone, no matter how busy they are. - Do you have a personal message for students?
- Whether you work long hours or have a hectic after school activities schedule, it can be really difficult to commit long term, to the same time on the same day every week or even month, so for that reason we give you complete flexibility on how often you can make it for your lesson, even if you can only manage once a month, it will make a difference.
Maybe singing has always been simply a hobby & you’ve never been able to justify the time & investment in pursuing it, our sentiments are; so what if you’re not planning on singing to an audience of thousands, if you love singing & just want to improve your voice then go for it, everyone deserves to do something that’s just for them & there's no better stress reliever than singing your heart out!!
