Personal Message
Our mission is to help students in maths, the sciences and computing to achieve their full potential and attain good grades at GCSE and A Level.
Carshalton Tutorial College primarily provides one on one tutoring.
We are planning to start running programming workshops in the evening and weekends for children and adults.
We occasionally running courses for teachers and lecturers who need to get up to speed with various aspects of
computer science and computing in the school curriculum e.g. Cubetto, BBC MicroBit, and the RaspberryPi.
In particular we hope to run courses for youngsters who find that Coder Dojo and what they are taught at school
does not stretch them enough, or who are particularly keen on certain areas not taught at school, such as, for example
Lua programming for computer games.
Ages and Levels Covered
Age ranges
14 to 16 - GCSE
19 - 19 - A Level
Undergraduate and Masters - tuition and help with dissertations and assignments
We are also planning to run Programming as a Second Career classes, including ECDL both basic and advanced.
We can also provide tuition for those studying for BCS professional qualifications such as e.g. the Graduate Diploma in IT.
Opening Times
Currently we do not have fixed opening times
Tuition Fees
GCSE - £35.00 per hour for individual lessons
GCSE - Blocks of hours - £300.00 for a block of 10 hours.
A Level - £45.00 per hour for individual lessons
A Level - Blocks of hours - £400.00 for a block of 10 hours.
About Us
Carshalton Tutorial College is run by Andrew Eliasz who has degrees in Maths, Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Psychology and a Diploma in Computer Science from London University. Andrew taught Chemistry for 3 years at Charterhouse before going on to train as a Clinical Chemist at St. Bartholomew's Hospital (Barts). This was then followed by 6 years as a researcher in the department of Computer Science at UCL.
From 1990 onwards Andrew has been the director of First Technology Transfer Ltd. helping develop and run advanced computing courses both IT and Embedded and Real Time Systems.
Andrew has tutored in Maths and the Sciences over 30 years as well as tutoring undergraduates studying Chemistry, Biochemistry and Computer Science.
