Centre Director(s)

From 2005-2008, James read Archaeology and Anthropology at Magdalen College, Oxford.

Subsequently, in 2013, he gained a BA (Hons) in Acting from LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art). Alongside acting professionally, James undertook training in teaching stage combat, and is a probationary teacher with the BADC (British academy of Dramatic Combat).

James has been a private tutor since 2008, teaching acting, public speaking and LAMDA Exams, as well as academic subjects, such as Drama GCSE and A-level, English, Maths and Science.

Acting teaching credits include preparing students for drama school auditions and developing appropriate skills to deliver both classical and contemporary text. This involves breaking down the text to decipher meaning, and vocal and body warm ups in preparation for auditions.

Workshops taught include 'collaboration' with the CDD (Conservatoire for Dance and Drama), as well as workshops on 'Creating Character from the Outside In' and 'Actioning Text' at OUDS (Oxford University Dramatic Society).

I have taught Stage Combat at LAMDA and Guildhall, and have assisted at ALRA, MTA and the Summer School course at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

James has prepared individuals for public speaking through instruction in breathing techniques, vocal warm ups, accent reduction and relaxation methods for dinner and wedding speeches, preparing professionals for public speeches and working with children for LAMDA Exams.

About Us
Monday Club are a collective of creatives who meet weekly to develop and share skills, and to create new work. We believe it is vital as teachers to continue our own development, and thus offer our students tuition that remains up to date with the current creative environment.
