Patience and being understanding are probably my best qualities for being a teacher. That's not just what I think but a number of my pupils and pupils' parents have told me so. A sense of humour in the right situations can also be productive. Lots of people are good musicians but not all of them have the patience to teach people who struggle with the subject. I know from personal experience from when I was a child that the more someone shouts at a person who is trying hard but finding something difficult, the harder it becomes for that person to do well. That doesn't meant that I will be too soft with anyone messing about but am understanding towards those who are keen but not naturaly gifted in music.

  • How To Write The Perfect Song

Alex Wonk Songwriting Teacher (Bromley) Picture One of the biggest misconceptions about songwriting is this snobbish attitude that you need to be an accomplished musician to write good music. • The Era Of The Laptop With Songwriting

Ben Moorhouse Songwriting Teacher (East London) Picture Today, the idea that someone sitting in their bedroom in front of their laptop could write, record, and produce a hit single does not seem very surprising at all. The charts these days, are full of young musicians, who have created their own sound; meshing beats, synths and melodies into songs...
  • Popular Music In Our Brains

Songwriting Teacher (South West London) Picture Some of the most important songs in popular music history are songs that we all know. Songs that get stuck in our heads for days, months and for sure we remember them after many years. Some people call this phenomenon as the “ear worm” that get in our ear and does not let as stop listening to a...
  • What type of music do you write?

Songwriting Teacher (East London) Picture Pigeon Holes. I had already started a career as a singer-songwriter and contemporary singer as a 20 year old in Bonnie...
