The key to building up to be able to solve complex maths problems in exam conditions is to first learn key facts and formulae. Also practising algebraic skills such as rearranging formulae, substitution and solving simultaneous equations are crucial to ensure students avoid costly errors. To promote independent learning students should use websites where they can practise questions organised by topic and review their solutions using physics and maths tutor and exam solutions; videos of model answers.

Each student is unique and it is essential to find the way each student is most responsive and receptive to being successful in maths. Once confidence is gained through preparation such as learning key points, students will learn effectively and achievement is contagious! Enhancing their ability to learn independently is the key and through an extensive variety of approaches using various media learning tools.

I recommend MrBartonMaths, Maths Genie and Exam Solutions for videos.
