It does not matter if you are young or old there are many pressures in the modern world and it more than ever to adapt and being comfortable in high-pressure situations. According to British psychologist, Dr Richard Wiseman, the overall pace of life has increased by 10% worldwide since the mid-90's. In some places, it has even increased by 20%.

Many books have strategies and techniques which are very useful books such as Professor Steven Peters, Chimp Paradox which has help Sir Chris Hoy and Ronnie O'Sullivan on their sport goals and an organisation 'Art of Brilliance' which travel to events to show by change small difference to your mindset, will make big changes. The reasons why I am writing this article is because more than 70% of musicians have experienced anxiety and panic attacks, the largest ever survey into mental health issues in the profession suggests.

Professionals working in the music industry, including those in theatre, may also be up to three times more likely to suffer from depression than the general public, according to the Help Musicians UK survey results.

For the next generation, who are passionate to be a musician or being part in the music industry. It is important to be teach them about resilience.

A speech from Lord David Puttnam from Musical Futures Conference 2015, emphasises the importance of resilience and education in the 21st century and reflects on Einstein quote which says 'Everybody is a genius but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb the tree it will live out it's entire life believing it is stupid'.

Overall, as an educator, it is important to prepare our students for their future goals.
