What kind of experience do you have?
6 Years of Mainstream education experience in an inner city context and 2 years experience as a private tutor.
Literacy and English as an Additional Language specialist.

Fully aware of the challenges of the new GCSE and how to overcome them:
• Led the research and development of the new KS3 Curriculum
• Used student voice and curriculum audits to evaluate the effectiveness of units of work
• Trialled different approaches to tracking progress and improving pupil led assessment with Personal Learning Charts
• Developed in depth knowledge of the new OCR/EDEXCEL/AQA 9-1 GCSE
• Led a project to improve literacy in Year 7 and 8 (KS3) developing a reading and Intervention programme
OFsted graded as an 'outstanding' practitioner

Most schools are still unprepared and unclear about how to adapt teaching and course content to prepare pupils from KS3 for the new challenging, rigorous exams which means many students are not acquiring the skills or knowledge required to fulfil their potential in the new English 9-1 GCSE. I have spent two years researching and preparing schemes of work to enable pupils to develop critical literacy and the skills they need to succeed.
Developed a bespoke skills based assessment charts designed to track competence in reading and writing in all aspects of the new exam to provide clarity on strengths and areas needed for development.
How much do you charge?
£50 per hour.
Where do you teach?
Tuition in the comfort of your home. Group sessions can be arranged at home or at my home in W12.
I am available to tutor in W8, W9, W11, W12, W14 - Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea, Chiswick, Acton, Ealing.
When are you available?
Monday to Friday 4.30 until 21.30pm
Weekdays from 7am - 21.30pm
Saturday and Sunday 10:00am -17:00pm
Which ages and levels do you teach?
Reading Detective group classes start from KS2 - Year 5/6 to prepare for demands of Year 7 curriculum to ensure pupils are able to access the higher level reading material.
