Personal Message
I am a fully qualified, practicing and experienced primary teacher working with children across all primary ages. I take a particular interest in building confidence and self esteem in pupils and I hold an enhanced and current DBS certificate.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I am experienced in teaching all subjects across the National Curriculum from Early Years up to the end of Key Stage 2 (Age 11, Year 6).

I tutor all national curriculum subjects, including Maths, Writing, Reading Support and Comprehension, Phonics, Spelling Punctuation and Grammar (Commonly known as SPaG) and handwriting. I have a particular interest in supporting children who are struggling in maths between the ages of 6-10 (Year 2 to Year 5) and I have a thorough and comprehensive understanding of the new 2014 National Curriculum changes and requirements.

Additionally, I also tutor children for the 7 and 11+ entrance examinations.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have an MA in Women's Studies from the National University of Ireland, Cork along with BA (Hons) in Education Studies (2:1) from St Mary's University College. I have a PGCE with a specialism in Early Years Education and a diploma in School Leadership.
What kind of experience do you have?
Having specialised in Early Years Education I have spent the majority of my career working in both Early Years and Key Stage I. At the beginning of my career I spent 2 years teaching reception children and 3 years teaching year 2 where as Key Stage Leader, I was responsibile for and oversaw the teaching, learning and progress of 540 year 1 and 2 children. For the past 2 years, following the birth of my son, I have spent my time working with Key Stage 2 children predominantly in years 4 and 5.

I am extremely experienced in planning individual learning for children and due to my Early Years Specialism, I have a keen interest in supporting children to overcome barriers in Maths within the 6-10 age range. Often children encounter barriers in Maths due to gaps in their learning and thus find it difficult to move on. I am adept at identifying early mathematical gaps and supporting children in overcoming them.
How much do you charge?
My rate is £40 per hour including the detailed planning and preparation time required for every lesson to ensure that learning is personalised so that your child makes rapid progress.
Where do you teach?
Pinner, North Harrow, Northwood & surrounding areas.
When are you available?
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach primary age children from 5-11 years. EYFS, KS1 and KS2 including 7+ and 11+ entrance exam preparation.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
End of Key Stage 1 SATs and end of Key Stage 2 SATs, 7+ and 11+ entrance examinations.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I have an enhanced and current DBS certificate available to view on request.
Tell me about some of your current students.
I currently tutor a range of children from a vast array of different backgrounds, strengths and abilities. I thoroughly enjoy seeing the children whom I teach, flourish and develop both holisitcally and academically.
Do you have a personal message for students?
The relationship a child has with their teacher has a profound effect on the way a child learns. Confidence and emotional security is imperative to sucessful learning - Without this learning can be severly hindered. For me, building confidence and self esteem in my pupils comes first and foremost. I am an empathic and caring but firm teacher dedicated to building strong relationships in a safe and fun but progress driven environment.
