About Joanne
A fully qualified teacher with 30 years private and 22 years classroom experience. I offer ABRSM practical and theory exam preparation as well as support tuition for GCSE and A level students. I offer a free 30 minute initial assessment so we can meet before you commit. I teach all levels and all styles. Students who wish, may opt to work towards Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music exams.

In the initial assessment I administer simple pitch, rhythm and listening tests to assess strengths and weaknesses. I use this information to plan sequences of lesson which specifically meet the needs of the individuals. Also, when students progress to a sufficient standard I like to give students opportunity to have some influence over the direction of their learning. I believe that if students enjoy the music they are learning, they will practise more and so make better progress.
