About Georgina
- What kind of experience do you have?
I really enjoy playing and teaching the violin and it is very important to me that my students enjoy their lessons too. Instilling confidence in students and a love for music is one of my main aims as a teacher. I have been teaching privately and in a school setting for the last ten years.
My students range from four to sixty-five, from beginners to Grade 8. From preparing students for ABRSM exams to experimenting with the electric violin, I am committed to helping students get what they want from their violin lessons and show them the many facets of the violin.
In addition to teaching, I am also an active performer. Although my training was classical, my ability to improvise and interest in different styles has led to quite a varied career! I was nominated for 'Instrumentalist of the Year 2018' at the UK Americana Awards, have performed with blues musician Seasick Steve, musical theatre star Ramin Karimloo, John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin, Mumford and Sons and Paloma Faith. Please see my website for more details.

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I am happy to prepare students for Grade exams and Music Theory
- Do you have a personal message for students?
I am a firm believer in Sinichi Suzuki's assertion that everyone can learn how to play the violin beautifully – similarly as everyone learns to speak his or her mother tongue beautifully. Yes, it takes time and patience but the rewards are absolutely worth it. I have been extremely fortunate to have received outstanding and inspiring tuition throughout my own musical career and strive to pass this on to my own students.
It's never to late or too early to start learning the violin - so I look forward to hearing from you!

'I can highly recommend Georgina Leach as a violin teacher. My lessons with her have been most enjoyable. She combines the great qualities of being enthusiastic, highly knowledgeable, thorough and well organised in her methods.
She is adaptable to her pupils' specific needs, (in my case as an adult beginner). Her manner is relaxed, good-humoured and cheerful, and she is very encouraging of her students. She has the ability to demonstrate clearly and explain memorably the many aspects of violin playing. I am progressing well under her expert supervision and I look forward to every lesson!
Georgina Leach has been teaching my 7 year old son how to play the violin for 9 months and during that time he has made brilliant progress. Georgina is a wonderful violin teacher - very professional, enthusiastic and extremely patient. She tailors the lesson to the interests of my son and above all she makes the lessons fun.
Whether for a child or an adult, I would have no hesitation in recommending Georgina as a violin teacher.View more recommendations
