About James
- What kind of experience do you have?
I graduated from LAMDA in 2009 and since then have gone on to work in Television, Theatre and Film. I'm also a Director and co - founded the award winning film company Take Cover Films in 2011. Most recently I have been on stage, with a new piece of writing, 'Operation Crucible' at The Sheffield Crucible Theatre and UK tour. The production will be transferring to New York next year.
My most recent TV and Film credits include: 'Casualty' and 'Doctors' (BBC), 'V.P', 'A Thousand Empty Glasses' and 'Nightstand'

We are currently in the process of developing a feature film. Through this work I have regularly auditioned actors and that has given me invaluable experience both as an actor and a tutor. It has opened my eyes to how actors come across within the first 30 seconds of an audition, how important your energy, focus and attitude is as soon as you walk in the room - this insight has massively helped me in my own auditions and I am sure it will help yours too!
I have also worked at LAMDA first round and recall auditions, spending time with the actors auditioning and also sitting in on the panel.
For anyone looking for Public Speaking tutoring, I have worked in the Corporate sector for 6 years working on voice and delivery, with business leaders from Chanel 4 to UBM.

I am a professional actor, trained at LAMDA. I am also a director and regularly audition actors for films I have made with my award winning company, Take Cover Films. So I have experience from both sides of the audition process.

- Tell me about your qualifications.
I trained at LAMDA on the 3 year BA Hons course (2006-2009)
- How much do you charge?
I charge £35 per hour which includes all my travel expenses. I charge £45 per hour for public speaking tutoring.
- Where do you teach?
I teach from my home in Deptford, Lewisham South East London but I'm also happy to travel anywhere within London. Especially Greenwich, Lewisham, Peckham, New Cross, Camberwell, Brixton, Chiswick, Dulwich and Blackheath.
- When are you available?
As I am a working actor my diary is always flexible. We will always find a time that suits us both.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
Any ages.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I can tutor online via Skype and have done in the past, however I would say that, especially with acting, face to face is the best.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
I am very passionate about my job, I'm in my dream profession and that also comes across in my teaching
