About Adam
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been receiving students since 2011 and since 2016 I am a full time Chemistry Tutor in London. During the course of my tutoring career I have prepared students for a wide variety of exam boards like AQA, Edexcel, OCR, IB and worked with students who have autism, dyspraxia and behavioural problems.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I have an online up to date DBS check.
- Where and with whom did you train?
I have earned my degrees in the first university of Hungary (Eotvos Lorand University Budapest). I have also acquired my strong mathematical knowlege during my university years. From 2009-2011 I was a trainee in the team of Dr. Mady Virag Zsoldos. Our project was to synthesise new Ferrocene-carbohydrate conjugates, that can have a good anti-cancer effect on human tumour cells.
From 2011-2013 I continued my research work in the team of Dr. Antal Csampai organic chemistry professor. This project was the continuation of my former anti-cancer research, where our new compounds showed very good anti cell division effect on tumorous liver cells.
These passionate people have laid down the firm foundation of my love for science.

Brendan is in his 2nd year and he is preparing for his A level chemistry exam on Edexcel exam board. We have been covering A2 material since this August. Brendan is a hard working person, but he needed to cover the material in a structured way. So I guided him to do so and to identify all the key concepts of each topic. I make sure that he doesn't just recite every definition, but applies his knowledge properly in practice. Thanks to the lessons, his knowledge is firm, and he has a great chance to get the highest mark on his mock exams. He is looking forward to each lesson and he finds learning as a fulfilling activity due to his sense of achievement.
Another assignment of mine that I would like to mention is Cameron. I teach him Gcse Maths. He is struggling with slight autism and his mother asked me to help him. When I first went, he did'nt have any motivation to learn maths at all. I have changed my lessons according to his needs, in order to help him experience the joy that comes from proper understanding. I cover less but thoroughly, and eventually he finds it easy now to obtain undivided attention during the lessons. He also feels now that he wants to learn more, as solving maths problems in not a constant failure for him anymore. As he is a person with special needs, he has to work hard on certain areas, like doing homework individually. I am very consistent with him but slowly drip-feeding him information according to his ability. By applying slight moulding pressure on him, I slowly help him to create good learning habits. He is already on the road to develop individualism regarding his studies.

As a graduate chemist, I am exclusively specialised to teach chemistry. I have a deep commitment to make chemistry learning joyful and to train confident, capable and firm students.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
Chemistry - up to A-Level

MSC Chemistry 2013
Thanks to this program I acquired a thorough knowledge of the 3 main fields in chemistry: physical, organic, inorganic. It provided a great experience in laboratory work and the skill to develop and apply ideas within a research project. In addition the program contained numerous theoretical and laboratory courses on several chemistry related science disciplines, like mathematics, physics, biology and geoscience. The program was the combination of acquiring solid background in chemistry and performing research activities at the internationally respected laboratories of the Institute of Chemistry of Eotvos Lorand University.
BSc Chemistry 2011
The goal of the Chemistry BSc course was to have basic theoretical and experimental knowledge in chemistry and in related fields: mathematics, physics, computer science, scientific foreign languages. I acquired the most important methodologies and their practical applications in a chemical laboratory. A further aim of the program was to train students to solve practical problems independently in chemical production and to be able to operate scientific instruments.

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
Chemistry A level, all exam boards (Aqa, Edexcel, OCR, IB and more)
- Do you have a personal message for students?
What should you expect, if you choose me to be your tutor? At first, by having a lightsome conversation I will set up a teaching plan based on your chemistry knowledge. As Chemistry has been my profession for nearly 7 years, one conversation is enough for me to see the concrete areas where you need my support. My aim is to provide you a „model student†example, which means I orient and keep you on a road, what an ideal student would follow to absolve all the content of the specification. I know that everyone has different capabilities and background, so I take this into account, when I consider the amount of work that I will put on your shoulders. After these long years I spent learning chemistry, I know all the question types and all the typical pitfalls. I will lead you through all these, so nothing new can come in your way when the time will come to write your exam.
I am looking forward to work together!

Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
Adam is highly qualified to teach his given subjects and a great asset to my Brendan. He is professional in his delivery and approach, sets consistent weekly study and home work targets as he covers the curriculum being taught. Adam keeps me informed with weekly updates on how my son is progressing which is an invaluable insight as a parent. Brendan also rates Adam very highly. His confidence in achieving the A grade he covets has increased greatly since having Adam as his tutor. Adam is a gem.
Adam was punctual, engaging and committed!
He showed a true passion for the subject and was understanding and encouraging throughout our sessions.
Even with my learning difficulties and circumstances he was able to get me to a stage of confidence for my Chemistry exam with patience and empathy.
100% recommend.Adam, was a great private tutor for me during my A Levels. He was able to identify the weak points in my work and improve them as well as making sure I had a complete understanding on each topic before moving on and always provided additional work for me to cover before the following lesson. I Would highly recommend to other students.
He is competent and fluent when explaining. I highly recommend him.
