Personal Message
I am a professional singer working in the classical music profession and a second study pianist.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach singers from all levels and backgrounds, from complete beginners to advanced, with whom I work as a vocal coach.

I am also happy to teach piano to beginners.

Additionally, I am happy to act as a piano accompanist in graded music exams for any instrument.
Tell me about your qualifications.
I have an BA in Music from Oxford University (where I also was a choral scholar).

After leaving Oxford I went to the Guildhall School of Music, where I studied singing and gained a Postgraduate Diploma and Masters in Music Performance.

I also have ABRSM Grade 8 Distinction piano.

In addition, I have a good knowledge of German, having lived in Germany and learnt the language as a child.
What kind of experience do you have?
Ongoing freelance work with the choruses of English National Opera (with whom I have appeared in over 20 productions to date) and Welsh National Opera.

I have also sung on the concert platform with the Netherlands Radio Choir, BBC Singers, Geoffrey Mitchell Choir, and Philharmonia Voices.

In addition, I am an active oratorio soloist and have sung a number of solo operatic roles with smaller companies in the UK and abroad.

2 years' as a singing lay-clerk in Christ Church Cathedral Choir, Oxford.

I am currently a member of the professional choir of the Temple Church, where I have been a Choirman since 2004.

£30 per hour
£20 per half hour

All-inclusive fee of £70 for exam accompaniment (includes individual learning, two rehearsals with the examinee, and the day itself).
Where do you teach?
I teach at students' houses, but can teach at home in Chelmsford during term time.
When are you available?
My diary is flexible due to my performing schedule. The only day I don't teach is Sunday.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I am able to work with singers from all levels and backgrounds, from complete beginners to advanced, with whom I would work as a vocal coach.

I am also happy to teach piano to beginners.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I prepare my students for the ABRSM singing exams, although this is by no means compulsory. We just find it a good focus for the lessons.

Tell me about some of your current students.

Do you have a personal message for students?
