Personal Message
I think that every individual young or old can benefit from music. Music has a power to create understanding and to unite people. As a teacher I aim to inspire a love of music for every student and enable them to reach their potential.
Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach flute, piano and music theory.
Tell me about your qualifications.

Bachelor of Music Degree - graduated December 2012 with First Class Honours from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

Grade 8 piano distinction
Grade 5 theory distinction

A levels in Music - A, Art and Design - A, Maths - A, General Studies - B and French - C
5 A*'s, 5 A's and 1 B at GCSE level
What kind of experience do you have?
I have taught students privately during my higher education and previous to this I established and ran a flute group at my Secondary School: Tadcaster Grammar School.
I am currently teaching individuals and small groups at Blackheath Conservatoire both flute and piano.

I believe performing and teaching can work as a perfect combination...as a flautist I have just been accepted to the Southbank Sinfonia programme starting January 2016 (www.southbanksinfonia.co.uk) and this summer I toured Europe for 6 weeks with the European Youth Orchestra (www.euyo.eu) as their principal flute and principal piccolo player. I enjoy playing chamber music and perform frequently with The Netherlands Flute Academy Ensemble (www.neflac.nl), with my Finnish guitarist as a duo and my flute, harp and viola London based trio.
How much do you charge?
I charge £35/hour for flute, piano and music theory. I also teach 30 minute (£25) and 45 minute (£30) lessons to cater towards the age and level of every individual student.
Where do you teach?
I live close to Blackheath in London. I am not currently able to teach at home and so am very happy to travel to nearby students' homes. Further afield I am happy to teach in Mitcham on a Monday as I currently have some students here.
When are you available?
My availability is flexible. I can teach most evenings and weekends but also during the day.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
I am happy to teach flute at all levels and piano and music theory up to and including ABRSM grade 5. I can also prepare students for the practical parts in GCSE and A Level exams or for auditions to music conservatories (including junior departments) or youth orchestras. I am happy to teach students of any age.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I can prepare students for ABRSM, Trinity College London exams, GCSE, AS / A level music exams and auditions as stated in the previous question answer. I am also happy to teach students who do not wish to take exams.
Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I have an enhanced DBS certificate dated September 2015.
Where and with whom did you train?
I trained most recently at The Royal Conservatory in The Hague with Thies Roorda (flute) and Dorine Schade (piccolo)
Previous to this I studied in London at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance with Anna Noakes (flute) and Alan Baker (piccolo).
I began my training at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music with Jonathan Rimmer (flute) and Kathryn Eves (piano)
Do you have a personal message for students?
I look forward to hearing from you and sharing my enthusiasm and energy for music with you
